Golden Globe Ginkgo: Glorious Golden Foliage for Seasonal Splendor

About the Fruit

The Golden Globe Ginkgo is a living fossil that offers not only a rich history but also unmatched ornamental value. Revered for its unique fan-shaped leaves, this ginkgo variety is a non-fruiting male clone, thus sparing gardeners from the pungent fruits produced by female trees. Its leaves transition from a lush green to a brilliant golden-yellow, bringing a spectacular display of autumn color to any landscape.

What to Know About the Tree

Resilient and majestic, the Golden Globe Ginkgo is a deciduous tree that can become the centerpiece of any garden. It features a dense, symmetrical crown, making it an attractive shade tree throughout the year. This hardy specimen stands tall against pollution and pests, requiring minimal care. With a growth habit that remains compact, typically reaching 15-20 feet in height, it is well-suited for both urban and suburban settings.

Harvest Season

While the Golden Globe Ginkgo does not produce edible fruits, its harvest season is marked by a visual feast. As the days shorten and the air chills, the tree comes alive with a vivid golden hue. This autumnal transformation occurs annually, signifying that even though this tree goes dormant, it leaves behind a lasting impression with its breathtaking foliage.

Fruitscape™ with Ginkgo Trees

Immerse yourself in the timeless beauty of Fruitscaping™ with our Ginkgo Trees. These living fossils, unchanged for over 200 million years, bring a touch of prehistoric majesty to your garden, coupled with unmatched fall color and intriguing characteristics.

Ginkgo Trees captivate with their unique fan-shaped leaves, which transition through vibrant hues of green, gold, and even hints of bronze in the fall. Their distinct foliage creates a breathtaking display, making them a focal point in any landscape. Beyond their striking appearance, Ginkgo Trees are known for their resilience, adaptability, and low-maintenance nature.

Preferring a sunny location with well-drained soil, Ginkgo Trees thrive in conditions where their soil requirements are met. They prefer slightly acidic to neutral soil with a pH range of 5.0-6.5, which provides optimal conditions for their growth and nutrient uptake. They are remarkably tolerant of different soil types, including sandy, loamy, and clay soils, making them suitable for various garden settings.

Ginkgo Trees are dioecious, meaning they have separate male and female trees. The female trees produce small, fleshy, and fruit-like structures called “ovules,” which contain seeds. These fruits have a distinct odor when they fall and can be messy, so many gardeners prefer to plant male cultivars, which do not produce fruit.

Beyond their ornamental value, Ginkgo Trees have been revered for their cultural significance and medicinal properties. They symbolize longevity, resilience, and strength in many cultures, while Ginkgo leaf extracts are used in herbal remedies and supplements.

Embark on a journey of timeless beauty and Fruitscape™ with Ginkgo Trees. Whether you seek a stunning landscape specimen, a source of fall color, or a living testament to the ancient world, these majestic trees will captivate your senses and become cherished additions to your garden.
