About the Fruit

The Bruce Plum is a juicy delight, a fruit that will tantalize your taste buds with its sweet and slightly tart flavor. Its skin, a warm palette of reds and yellows, wraps around the succulent amber flesh – each bite a testament to the richness of nature. Perfect for fresh eating, baking, or making preserves, the Bruce Plum offers versatility in use and a robust, homegrown taste for any fruit connoisseur’s palate.

What to Know About the Tree

The Bruce Plum tree is a deciduous delight, showcasing a seasonal transformation that brings dynamic life to any garden. In spring, it’s adorned with a profusion of white flowers, signaling the start of the growing season. This mid-sized tree, reaching 15-20 feet at maturity, offers a rounded canopy of green foliage that becomes a haven of shade in the summer before yielding its bountiful harvest. It’s a self-fertile variety, but planting alongside another plum variety can enhance pollination and yield.

Harvest Season

Come mid-summer, the Bruce Plum tree reaches its crescendo, as branches become laden with ripe, delectable fruit. The harvest season is a time of abundance, with the tree offering its generous bounty, ready to be plucked and enjoyed. The sight of these sun-kissed jewels among the leaves is a rewarding spectacle for any gardener.

Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
