Coontie Cycad – Ancient Elegance for Your Garden

About the Bloom

The Coontie Cycad plant does not bloom, but its unique feathery leaves add a touch of prehistoric charm to your garden. The glossy, dark green foliage creates a lush, tropical look that is sure to make a statement in any landscape.

What to Know About the Plant

The Coontie Cycad is an evergreen plant that stays green year-round, providing a constant source of beauty in your garden. This plant can grow up to 3 feet tall and wide, making it perfect for borders, containers, or as a focal point in your garden. Its fern-like leaves give it a delicate, airy appearance that adds a touch of elegance to any setting.

Enhancing your Fruitscape

Pair the Coontie Cycad with other tropical plants like Banana trees or Pineapples to create a lush, exotic paradise in your garden. Mix in some colorful berry plants such as Blueberries or Raspberries for a pop of color and texture. Herbs like Lemongrass and Mint will complement the Coontie Cycad’s tropical vibe, while adding a fragrant touch to your garden. Embrace the ancient elegance of the Coontie Cycad and create a stunning fruitscape that combines ornamental beauty with edible delights.

Landscaping with Palm Trees

Palm trees add a very special feeling to the landscape. Palms bring on a feeling of a natural oasis that soothes and relaxes the yards essence. A palm tree can be used as a focal point to highlight the graceful specimen. The tropical feel of the fronds will smooth over any sharp contours or edges in the design of the landscape. Planting palm trees will add the touch of tropical paradise that makes you feel like you are vacationing in your own yard.

Growing Guide

Currently, we only have growing guides for our edible plants.   We are working on them for our ornamental & landscaping plants, and will add them in the near future.  Contact us if you have questions on how to plant and nurture your Palm Trees, and we will be glad to have one of our gardeners assist you.

Ornamental & Landscaping Plants at Just Fruits & Exotics

Although Just Fruits and Exotics has been providing ornamental and landscaping plants to customers at our nursery since we added “Exotics” to our name in the 1990’s, we never had them available to our customers online.

However, September of 2018, with the launch of our updated Just Fruits and Exotics website, we added many of our ornamental and landscaping plants to our online store for our customers nationwide.   We encourage you to “Fruitscape” your yards, mixing edibles and ornamentals to make your own edible garden.

Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
