Chinese Chestnut Tree: Bountiful Harvest, Resilient Splendor

About the Fruit

The Chinese Chestnut is a treasured tree that yields nuts celebrated for their sweet, nutty flavor and satisfying texture. These chestnuts are perfect for roasting on an open fire, incorporating into savory dishes, or crafting delectable desserts. Beyond their culinary versatility, they are packed with nutrients, offering a wholesome addition to any diet.

What to Know About the Tree

The Chinese Chestnut Tree stands as a paradigm of resilience and beauty. Unlike its American counterpart, it is resistant to chestnut blight, ensuring a robust and long-lasting presence in your garden. This deciduous tree flaunts a broad, spreading canopy with glossy, toothed leaves that turn to shades of gold and brown in the fall. It typically reaches heights of 40-60 feet, making a stately impression in any landscape.

Harvest Season

Anticipation for the Chinese Chestnut harvest peaks in the fall, as the tree bears its bountiful crop. The prickly burs open to reveal the rich, brown chestnuts inside, signaling it’s time to gather these autumnal treasures. The harvest not only provides a plentiful yield but also an engaging outdoor activity for family and friends to enjoy together.

Chestnut Trees are renowned for their ornamental value, boasting a broad canopy of glossy green leaves that provide shade and create a serene atmosphere in your garden. As the seasons change, the leaves transform into a warm, golden hue, creating a captivating fall display.

Beyond their aesthetic appeal, Chestnut Trees offer a delectable reward. The tree produces an abundance of chestnuts encased in spiky burrs, ready to be harvested and enjoyed. Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
