Persian Lime Tree: Zesty Flavor in Every Squeeze

About the Fruit

The Persian Lime, also known as the Tahiti lime, is a must-have for any citrus aficionado. Its seedless nature and thin, smooth rind make it a breeze to use in the kitchen. The fruit’s distinct tangy flavor is less acidic than its relatives, perfect for enhancing the taste of beverages, marinades, and desserts. A squeeze of Persian lime adds a burst of tropical zest to any dish, elevating it from ordinary to extraordinary.

What to Know About the Tree

This evergreen tree is a gem in any garden with its glossy, dark green leaves and fragrant white blossoms. The Persian Lime Tree is known for its vigorous growth, reaching a mature height of 15-20 feet if planted in the ground. It can also be grown in a container, which allows it to be kept at a manageable size for smaller spaces. The tree’s upright and bushy form not only produces bountiful harvests but also serves as a stunning ornamental piece.

Harvest Season

The lime’s peak harvest season occurs in the fall and winter, but if you’re lucky, you might find it bears fruit sporadically throughout the year. Imagine the delight of plucking fresh, ripe limes from your own tree just when you need them, ensuring the freshest cocktails and culinary creations any time of year.

Enhancing Your Fruitscape™

Integrate the Persian Lime Tree into your fruitscape™ for a touch of elegance and a year-round supply of fresh limes. Its dense foliage provides a lush backdrop, while the white flowers and vibrant green fruit create a striking visual contrast. This tree is more than just an attractive plant; it’s a functional part of your edible landscape, ensuring that your fruitscape™ is not only beautiful but also bountiful.

Elevate your garden, patio, or indoor space with the refreshing appeal of our Lime Trees. These bright, vibrant citrus trees are an excellent choice for gardeners of all levels, offering visual beauty, enticing fragrances, and a harvest that’s as delicious as it is nutritious.

Perfect for warmer climates when planted in the ground and equally suited to container gardening in cooler regions, lime trees are a versatile addition to any Fruitscaping™ project. Their glossy green foliage, fragrant white blossoms, and eye-catching fruit bring a burst of tropical charm to any setting.

The benefits of cultivating a lime tree go beyond its ornamental qualities. Fresh, homegrown limes can transform culinary creations, adding a tangy twist to beverages, main dishes, desserts, and even preserves. Packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants, limes not only enhance your food but also contribute to a healthy diet.

Lime trees are a year-round delight, offering visual interest in every season. Their lush green leaves create a serene backdrop, with clusters of aromatic blossoms appearing in the spring. As the seasons change, these blossoms develop into small green fruits, gradually growing and intensifying in color until they reach their characteristic bright hue.

Growing and caring for a lime tree is a rewarding endeavor. These trees prefer a sunny location and well-draining soil. Regular watering and application of a citrus-focused fertilizer, like Espoma Organic Citrus-tone, will keep your tree in prime condition, encouraging a generous fruit yield.

Whether you’re nurturing a standard or a dwarf variety, our lime trees are a perfect fit for your Fruitscaping™ journey. Experience the joy of planting and caring for your tree, and enjoy the satisfaction of a bountiful, tangy harvest.

Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
