Pendolino Olive Tree: Bring Home the Essence of the Mediterranean

About the Fruit

Indulge in the authentic flavors of Italy with the Pendolino Olive Tree. These slender, elongated olives are renowned for their high oil content and superb taste. The Pendolino olive is a key varietal used in creating some of the finest olive oils, rich in aroma and with a perfect balance of fruitiness and pungency. Whether pressed into golden oil or cured for your table, these olives will imbue your dishes with the essence of the Mediterranean.

What to Know About the Tree

Embrace the elegance of the Pendolino Olive Tree, an evergreen that exudes grace with its weeping form and silver-green foliage. This tree is known not only for its ornamental beauty but also as a vital pollinator for other olive varieties. Growing between 15 to 30 feet tall, the Pendolino thrives in well-drained soil, basking in full sun. Its adaptability to various conditions and resistance to cold makes it a cherished tree among growers and garden enthusiasts alike.

Harvest Season

As autumn’s chill sets in, the Pendolino Olive Tree comes alive with clusters of fruit. Harvest season typically unfolds from late October through November, when olives reach their peak for oil production. This period of abundance transforms your garden into a picturesque scene straight out of an Italian landscape, with branches laden with the promise of home-harvested olives and oil.

Fruitscaping™ with Olive Trees

Experience the Mediterranean in your own backyard with Fruitscaping™ using our Olive Trees. These storied trees have been cherished for millennia for their aesthetic appeal, culinary use, and cultural significance.

Olive trees are well-loved for their stunning silvery foliage and gnarled trunks, which add a rustic and elegant aesthetic to any landscape. Their small, fragrant blooms precede the formation of olives, which can be harvested and processed into olive oil or cured for table olives. Whether for their fruit or simply for their ornamental appeal, olive trees offer unique beauty and versatility.

Olive trees thrive in well-draining soil and full sun, emulating their Mediterranean origins. They are notably drought-tolerant, making them excellent choices for xeriscaping or for regions with less frequent rainfall. Their size can be managed with pruning, allowing them to fit into various garden designs.

When planning your Fruitscaping™ design, consider pairing olive trees with grapevines or fig trees for a truly Mediterranean feel. Their grey-green leaves contrast beautifully with the darker greens of other plants, adding a touch of serenity to your garden.

Discover the joy of Fruitscaping™ with Olive Trees and enjoy the fruits of your labor. From the planting and care to the satisfaction of your own olive harvest, embrace this enriching gardening journey. Embark on a horticultural adventure right in your backyard with our Olive Trees.

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
