Fruitscaping™ with Grapefruit Trees
Imagine stepping outside and plucking a ripe, sun-warmed grapefruit straight from the tree. Introduce grapefruit trees into your landscape and turn this dream into a reality. Not only will these trees provide a bounty of tart-sweet citrus, they will also serve as an attractive feature in your garden with their glossy green leaves and bright, fragrant blossoms.
Grapefruit trees, like other citrus, are subtropical, so they’ll thrive in warm, sunny locations. They are great for sunny backyards, but they can also be grown in large containers and moved indoors in regions that experience freezing temperatures.
Our grapefruit trees offer a range of flavors from the classic, mouth-puckering tartness of the traditional varieties to the sweet, mild taste of some newer cultivars. Each type has its unique qualities, but all share a refreshing, juicy texture that’s a delight to experience fresh from the tree.
Despite their tropical roots, grapefruit trees are surprisingly easy to grow and require relatively low maintenance. They prefer well-draining soil and plenty of sunlight. Regular watering and annual pruning to maintain size and shape will help keep your tree healthy and productive.
For gardeners with limited space, consider growing a dwarf grapefruit variety. These smaller trees are perfect for container gardening, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of homegrown grapefruit no matter the size of your garden.
Whether you want to start your day with a glass of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, or you’re looking to add some zest to your culinary creations, growing your own grapefruit tree can be a rewarding venture. With a bit of care and patience, you’ll be enjoying your own homegrown citrus before you know it!

Shipping Information
Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.
The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door: We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!
Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
