Just Fruits Loquat Seedling Tree – Tastes Like Apricots!
Loquats are probably one of the most outstanding edible landscaping trees. The leathery broad-leaved trees lend a tropical feel to the garden. Fragrant white flowers bloom throughout fall and the trees are gorgeous when in fruit with the clusters of bright yellow fruit covering the plant. Tangy sweet apricot- flavored fruit. The fruit can be used in any dish that you would use peaches in. Our favorites is smoothies. So easy, just  pop out the seeds and throw a handful of fruit into the blender, wiz until pulp is a fine texture, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and thin with pineapple juice. It is soooo good! These are seedling trees and will begin bearing in 6 to 8 years. Self fertile so you only need one tree to get fruit. Ripens March.

Fruitscaping with Loquat Trees
Loquats are one of the most useful fruiting trees we’ve got. Want to emphasize the tropical and exotic? A loquat adds to the look created by citrus, bananas and gingers. Need a hedge or windbreak? Loquats make a fast, easy to grow and evergreen hedge. Need to screen your neighbor’s garage out? Add a loquat. Want a fabulous scent in December? Plant a loquat near your window. On top of all that, this is one tough, pest-free tree. It’s an organic gardener’s delight.
Although often called the Japanese Plum, the Loquat is not native to Japan nor is it a plum. It’s extremely popular in Asian countries where it is grown commercial for processing into canned fruit and juice.  The Loquat is actually from southern China, where in Cantonese it is called Luh Kwat (hence Loquat.) Translated that means “reed orange†or “rush orange. Loquats may be known for their tolerance to wet areas, but can handle a wide range of soils and sun exposures. The trees are fast growing evergreens with beautiful coarsely-textured, broad leaves of deepest jade green. Warm winters bring an abundant crop of pale yellow fruit with a delicious apricot flavor. The fruit is fantastic in fruit salads, ice cream, chutney and relishes. Picked a little on the green side they make a good substitute for cherries in pies. What’s not to love? Evergreen, salt tolerant and drought tolerant, plus a great fruit!
Our loquat trees are all cutting grown or grafted to ensure fruiting in two years. Plant in part to full sun with well-drained soil.

Shipping Restrictions
We’re so sorry… but due to agricultural restrictions we cannot ship any plants outside of the United States, or to the states of California, Hawaii and Alaska. Also, citrus trees cannot be shipped outside of the state of Florida.
Here are some important things to know about your shipments
Unpacking Your Plants Guide:  Prior to receiving our plants, please click this link to read our Unpacking Your Plants Guide to get to know the steps to keeping your plant healthy after receiving it.
We do NOT ship bare root:  Our trees are shipped in the same exact containers they are grown in, for the most healthy transition. The plants are watered well before they are packed and wrapped in a shipping bag to ensure they stay moist during transit. It’s as if you came and picked them up right from our nursery yourself!
Why do we not offer free shipping? At Just Fruits, we price all of our plants online exactly as we do in the nursery. Therefore, the shipping cost is simply what it costs for us to get your order from the nursery to you. Many competitors may increase the plants’ prices in order to hide shipping costs… we do not do that. We want our customers to see exactly what the plant costs are, separate from what the shipping costs are. That way if you decided to come visit the nursery to pick up your plants instead, you would know how much you save in shipping.
Weather Watching:  We now ship all year round! However, we do watch for extreme weather. If there is extremely cold or hot weather expected around your shipment date and on your path of shipment, we will contact you and notify you that we plan to hold the shipment for the next possible shipping date with better conditions. If you ask us to still ship it, through the conditions, we will not be responsible for any damage caused to the plant & UPS will not refund any claims. We love our plants, and do not want to see them die, so we would rather wait until it’s the right time to ship it, than risk losing a plant in transit.
