Lila Avocado Tree: The Perfect Ingredient for Your Fruitscape™

About the Fruit

The Lila Avocado is a true gem in the world of avocados. With its smooth, creamy texture and rich, buttery flavor, this fruit is a must-have for any avocado lover. Its dark, purple-black skin hints at the luscious green flesh inside, which is perfect for spreading on toast, adding to salads, or creating delicious guacamole. Indulge in the exquisite taste and versatility of the Lila Avocado and elevate your culinary creations to new heights.

What to Know About the Tree

The Lila Avocado tree is a sight to behold in any landscape. Its evergreen nature ensures a vibrant presence throughout the year, while its compact size makes it suitable for gardens of all sizes or even container planting. With glossy, dark-green leaves and a graceful growth habit, it brings an elegant touch to any outdoor space. Additionally, the Lila Avocado tree is known for its ability to self-pollinate, eliminating the need for a second tree to achieve a bountiful harvest.

Harvest Season

The excitement builds as the Lila Avocado tree reaches its peak ripeness in late fall to early winter. During this time, you’ll witness the transformation of the tree’s dark-green canopy into a spectacle of vibrant, purple-black avocados. Harvesting these delectable fruits is a delight, as they effortlessly detach from the tree, allowing you to savor the fresh, creamy goodness straight from your own garden.

Fruitscaping™ with Avocado Trees

Immerse yourself in the exciting world of Fruitscaping™ with our Avocado Trees. These tropical and subtropical beauties not only yield an abundance of nutritious and delicious fruit but also bring an exotic flair to your garden or landscape.

Avocado trees prefer well-drained soil, ideally sandy or loamy, enriched with organic matter. A higher pH can result in nutrient deficiencies, so it’s crucial to aim for a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Enhance your soil’s fertility and structure by adding compost or well-rotted manure.

Applying a layer of organic mulch around your avocado tree helps conserve soil moisture, suppress weed growth, and improve soil fertility over time as it decomposes. Mulch also assists in maintaining a cooler root environment during hot periods and provides some protection against frost in the colder months.

Avocado varieties vary in size, shape, skin texture, and flavor, offering a delightful range of choices to suit your culinary and garden needs. Enjoy the creamy, buttery flesh in salads, on toast, or as homemade guacamole.

The substantial size of avocado trees can create a statement in larger gardens, providing a striking focal point and ample shade. With their glossy, dark green leaves, they add a touch of tropical ambiance to your outdoor space.

Though larger than most fruit trees, avocados can be successfully grown in containers, especially dwarf or semi-dwarf varieties. This makes it possible for those with limited space or colder climates to enjoy homegrown avocados, as potted trees can be moved indoors during colder weather.

Embark on your Fruitscaping™ journey with Avocado Trees. Savor the process from planting and caring to ultimately enjoying the rich, smooth taste of your homegrown avocados. It’s a unique blend of horticultural beauty and gastronomical delight.

Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
