Elijah Blue Grass - A Touch of Blue Magic for Your Garden

About the Bloom

While the Elijah Blue Grass doesn't bloom, its unique blue-gray foliage adds a touch of enchantment to your garden. The delicate blades sway gracefully in the breeze, creating a mesmerizing display that will captivate onlookers. This ornamental grass is a versatile addition to any landscape, offering year-round beauty and texture.

What to Know About the Plant

The Elijah Blue Grass is a cool-season grass known for its striking blue color that intensifies in the cooler months. This ornamental grass is evergreen, providing interest even in the winter. It typically grows to a height of 8-12 inches, forming a dense, compact mound that adds structure and contrast to your garden. Its fine texture and low maintenance make it a popular choice for borders, rock gardens, or mass plantings.

Enhancing your Fruitscape

Pair the Elijah Blue Grass with fruit trees like Apple or Cherry to create a stunning contrast between the grass's blue hues and the trees' vibrant fruits. Berry plants such as Blackberries or Raspberries can complement the grass's fine texture with their lush foliage and colorful berries. For a tropical touch, consider adding Banana plants or Pineapple Guava for a striking visual display. Herbs like Thyme or Sage can enhance the aromatic appeal of your garden, blending seamlessly with the Elijah Blue Grass's unique color and texture.

Landscaping with Grasses

These grasses are so incredibly lovely to use in the landscape because they can be used in so many ways. They can border a bed or be the centerpiece. They can be scattered throughout to create tuffs of texture to contrast your shrubs and trees. Or they can be neatly mixed in with flowers to accentuate the colors and shapes. We love these grasses because of all the fun we have planting them and watching them grow to be such a joy.

Growing Guide

Currently, we only have growing guides for our edible plants.   We are working on them for our ornamental & landscaping plants, and will add them in the near future.  Contact us if you have questions on how to plant and nurture your Grasses, and we will be glad to have one of our gardeners assist you.

Ornamental & Landscaping Plants at Just Fruits & Exotics

Although Just Fruits and Exotics has been providing ornamental and landscaping plants to customers at our nursery since we added “Exotics” to our name in the 1990’s, we never had them available to our customers online.

However, September of 2018, with the launch of our updated Just Fruits and Exotics website, we added many of our ornamental and landscaping plants to our online store for our customers nationwide.   We encourage you to “Fruitscape” your yards, mixing edibles and ornamentals to make your own edible garden.

Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
