Dwarf Blue Bayou Pampas Grass - Add a Touch of Elegance to Your Garden

About the Bloom

The Dwarf Blue Bayou Pampas Grass brings a splash of color to your garden with its striking blue-hued blooms. This ornamental grass blooms in late summer to early fall, showcasing fluffy plumes that dance gracefully in the breeze. The unique blue tint of the blooms adds a touch of whimsy and charm to any landscape.

What to Know About the Plant

This evergreen grass features slender, blue-green leaves that provide a beautiful backdrop for the showy blooms. The Dwarf Blue Bayou Pampas Grass grows to a compact size of 3-4 feet tall and wide, making it ideal for smaller spaces or container planting. Its compact, clumping growth habit creates a neat and tidy appearance, perfect for adding texture and movement to your garden.

Enhancing your Fruitscape

Pair the Dwarf Blue Bayou Pampas Grass with fruit trees like Peach, Plum, or Cherry for a stunning contrast in color and texture. The airy plumes of the grass complement the structure of fruit trees, creating a dynamic visual display. Mix in berry plants such as Strawberries or Blackberries to add a pop of color and provide a delicious harvest. Tropical plants like Bananas or Pineapple Guava can add a touch of exotic flair to your garden, enhancing the overall aesthetic. Consider planting herbs like Lavender or Sage near the grass to attract pollinators and add fragrance to your garden. With the Dwarf Blue Bayou Pampas Grass, you can create a vibrant and diverse fruitscape that is both visually appealing and productive.

Landscaping with Grasses

These grasses are so incredibly lovely to use in the landscape because they can be used in so many ways. They can border a bed or be the centerpiece. They can be scattered throughout to create tuffs of texture to contrast your shrubs and trees. Or they can be neatly mixed in with flowers to accentuate the colors and shapes. We love these grasses because of all the fun we have planting them and watching them grow to be such a joy.

Growing Guide

Currently, we only have growing guides for our edible plants.   We are working on them for our ornamental & landscaping plants, and will add them in the near future.  Contact us if you have questions on how to plant and nurture your Grasses, and we will be glad to have one of our gardeners assist you.

Ornamental & Landscaping Plants at Just Fruits & Exotics

Although Just Fruits and Exotics has been providing ornamental and landscaping plants to customers at our nursery since we added “Exotics” to our name in the 1990’s, we never had them available to our customers online.

However, September of 2018, with the launch of our updated Just Fruits and Exotics website, we added many of our ornamental and landscaping plants to our online store for our customers nationwide.   We encourage you to “Fruitscape” your yards, mixing edibles and ornamentals to make your own edible garden.

Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
