Buddha Belly Bamboo – Tranquility in Your Garden

About the Bloom

The Buddha Belly Bamboo, also known as Bambusa ventricosa, is a unique and exotic plant that does not bloom. Its main attraction lies in its distinctive culms, which resemble the rounded belly of the Buddha, giving it a playful and whimsical appearance. The culms are a vibrant green color, adding a pop of color to any landscape.

What to Know About the Plant

This evergreen bamboo features lush, green leaves that provide a tropical feel to your garden. It typically grows to a height of 15-25 feet, creating a lush and dense screen or focal point in your yard. The Buddha Belly Bamboo’s graceful arching canes add elegance and movement to your landscape, making it a standout feature.

Enhancing your Fruitscape

Integrate the serene presence of the Buddha Belly Bamboo into your fruitscape to create a harmonious balance of edibles and ornamentals. Pair this ornamental bamboo with fruit trees like Mango, Papaya, or Guava for a tropical oasis vibe. Mix in berry plants such as Strawberries or Blueberries to add a splash of color and sweetness. Tropical plants like Pineapple or Passionfruit vines complement the exotic look of the bamboo, while herbs like Lemongrass or Mint provide aromatic accents. By combining these elements, you can create a tranquil and visually appealing garden that nourishes both the body and soul.

Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
