Magnificent Muhly Grass – A Touch of Elegance for Your Garden

About the Bloom

Bring a delicate touch of beauty to your garden with the Magnificent Muhly Grass. While this ornamental grass doesn’t produce blooms, its feathery plumes in shades of pink, purple, or white sway gracefully in the breeze, adding a soft, ethereal quality to your landscape.

What to Know About the Plant

The Magnificent Muhly Grass boasts slender, arching leaves in shades of green or blue-green, creating a stunning contrast against its colorful plumes. This drought-tolerant grass is deciduous, meaning it goes dormant in winter and regrows in spring. It typically reaches a height of 2-4 feet, making it an ideal choice for borders, containers, or mass plantings.

Enhancing your Fruitscape

Integrate the Magnificent Muhly Grass into your fruitscape to complement a variety of edibles and ornamentals. Pair it with fruit trees like Citrus, Fig, or Olive for a Mediterranean-inspired garden. Mix it with berry plants such as Blueberries or Raspberries for a pop of color and texture. Tropical plants like Banana or Pineapple add a tropical flair, while herbs like Mint or Thyme provide a fragrant backdrop. These combinations create a visually appealing landscape that combines beauty and functionality, enriching your outdoor space.

Landscaping with Grasses

These grasses are so incredibly lovely to use in the landscape because they can be used in so many ways. They can border a bed or be the centerpiece. They can be scattered throughout to create tuffs of texture to contrast your shrubs and trees. Or they can be neatly mixed in with flowers to accentuate the colors and shapes. We love these grasses because of all the fun we have planting them and watching them grow to be such a joy.

Growing Guide

Currently, we only have growing guides for our edible plants.   We are working on them for our ornamental & landscaping plants, and will add them in the near future.  Contact us if you have questions on how to plant and nurture your Grasses, and we will be glad to have one of our gardeners assist you.

Ornamental & Landscaping Plants at Just Fruits & Exotics

Although Just Fruits and Exotics has been providing ornamental and landscaping plants to customers at our nursery since we added “Exotics” to our name in the 1990’s, we never had them available to our customers online.

However, September of 2018, with the launch of our updated Just Fruits and Exotics website, we added many of our ornamental and landscaping plants to our online store for our customers nationwide.   We encourage you to “Fruitscape” your yards, mixing edibles and ornamentals to make your own edible garden.

Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
