Creeping Yew Plant – Unique and Versatile Evergreen for Your Garden
About the Bloom
The Creeping Yew Plant is a stunning evergreen that does not produce blooms. Instead, it features dark green, needle-like leaves that cascade gracefully, creating a lush ground cover. This plant’s foliage provides year-round interest and texture, making it a standout addition to any garden.
What to Know About the Plant
The Creeping Yew Plant is an evergreen ground cover that thrives in partial to full shade. It grows low to the ground, reaching a height of about 1-2 feet with a spread of 4-6 feet. This plant is a slow grower, perfect for creating a dense carpet of greenery in your garden. Its foliage is deep green and remains vibrant throughout the year, adding visual appeal and interest to any landscape.
Enhancing your Fruitscape
Pair the Creeping Yew Plant with fruit trees like Dwarf Apple or Cherry trees to create a dynamic contrast between the lush green foliage of the yew and the colorful fruits of the trees. Mix in berry plants such as Blueberries or Raspberries to add pops of color and texture to the ground cover. For a tropical touch, consider incorporating Banana or Mango trees, which will thrive alongside the Creeping Yew Plant’s shade-loving nature. Herbs like Thyme or Oregano can also complement the yew’s dense growth, adding culinary interest to your garden.

Although Just Fruits and Exotics has been providing ornamental and landscaping plants to customers at our nursery since we added “Exotics” to our name in the 1990’s, we never had them available to our customers online.
However, September of 2018, with the launch of our updated Just Fruits and Exotics website, we added many of our ornamental and landscaping plants to our online store for our customers nationwide.  We encourage you to “Fruitscape†your yards, mixing edibles and ornamentals to make your own edible garden.
