What to Know About the Plant

The Oconee Native Azalea is a deciduous plant, meaning it goes dormant in the winter before coming back to life in the spring. Its green leaves provide a lovely backdrop for the vibrant blooms, creating a striking contrast. This plant can grow to be a medium-sized shrub, making it ideal for borders or as a focal point in your garden. Its compact size and attractive foliage make it a versatile addition to any landscape.

Enhancing your Fruitscape

Incorporate the Oconee Native Azalea into your fruitscape to add a splash of color and elegance. Pair this ornamental plant with fruit trees like Apple, Cherry, and Plum for a harmonious blend of beauty and bounty. Mix in berry plants such as Blueberries and Raspberries to create a vibrant and fruitful landscape. Tropical plants like Banana and Pineapple can add a touch of exotic flair, while herbs like Mint and Basil bring a fragrant and flavorful element to your garden. By combining the Oconee Native Azalea with a variety of edibles and ornamentals, you can create a visually stunning and productive garden that will delight all of your senses.

Planting & Care

Landscaping with Azalea Bushes

Azaleas are a southern classic for good reason. They grow incredibly well and look great year round. In the spring you are greeted with an explosion of color and fragrance. The healthy plants seem to have as many buds and blooms as they do leaves. All year round the evergreen leaves will add a lush vibe to your yard. Because Chinese azaleas are evergreen, they make wonderful borders, hedges and even privacy screens. The uses for azaleas in the landscape are endless and add a touch of southern charm to any home.

Shipping Information

Before Your Plants Arrive: You can find many guides on unpacking, planting, & care, on our growing guides page.

The Journey From Our Nursery to Your Door:  We NEVER ship our plants bare root. Your plant will travel in the very container in which it was nurtured. We thoroughly prune and water them before packing, and make sure they’re well wrapped to retain moisture during transit. It’s as though you’ve personally collected them from our nursery!

Choose Your Ship Date: We understand you’ll want to be available when your plant arrives. Our checkout process features a handy calendar that allows you to choose the Monday on which you want your plant to ship. Depending on your location, you’ll likely receive your plant by Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of that week. Once shipped, UPS will generate a tracking number and send it to the email you provided. You can then follow your plant’s journey and ensure someone is available to unpack it on arrival day.
